2020 COPA AMERICA TOUR - Argentina

​For the first time in history Australia has been invited to compete in the Copa America and in 2020 it will be held in Colombia and Argentina.

The ten teams from the CONMEBOL federation, including heavyweights Brazil and Argentina, as well as our long time foes Uruguay, will compete for the title along with the invited Asian nations of Australia and Qatar. We've been drawn into Group A - South Zone with Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.

We're delighted to release a full five match, and a shorter three match tour, to Argentina with all the football and adventure you could want with a group of dedicated football fans. LIMITED TO MAXIMUM 30 PEOPLE.

Day 1: Thursday June 11, 2020 - CORDOBA
Make your way to Cordoba, where your private transfer will take you to our 48 hotel. Flights can be arranged to Cordoba from Australia via Chile on LATAM, our booking agent Amelia can assist with your international flight requirements.
Córdoba is the second biggest city in Argentina and the most important one in the central region of the country. The city is a popular destination chosen because of its history and impressive landscapes with many attractive and surprising places for the visitor.
We'll get together in the evening for our welcome dinner where we'll get to know everyone and enjoy some local hospitality.

Day 2: Friday June 12 - CORDOBA
After breakfast we head out on a half day city tour. Discover the diverse aspects that make Córdoba one of Argentina's most beloved cities. An interesting fusion of the old and the new, with colonial architecture contrasted against the many modern buildings as well as a strong 'Cordobez' culture set amongst the hub of economic activity. Deemed a Cultural Heritage site by UNESCO in 2000, this block of Jesuit religious and secular buildings includes the oldest church and the oldest university in Argentina, a school and a chapel.

Day 3: Saturday June 13 - CORDOBA
Today is our first game day as Australia takes on our old foes URUGUAY at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes. We'll enjoy drinks at our traditional prematch function as we soak up the atmosphere.

Day 4: Sunday June 14 - CORDOBA to BUENOS AIRES
Today we make our way from Cordoba to the Argentianian capital of Buenos Aires.  It's a short one hour flight with return hotel transfers to take us to our accommodation for the next few weeks, the four star Intersur Recoleta.
We'll then meet up with those just doing the three match tour and enjoy a local Argentinian feast to discuss our plans for the rest of the tour.

Day 5: Monday June 15 - BUENOS AIRES
 Half Day City Tour of Buenos Aires - Private service ◄ (Afternoon)
Departing from the Hotel, we drive down 9 de Julio Ave, the widest avenue in the world, past the famous Colon Opera House, the Obelisk, commemorating the first founding of the city in 1536 to get to Plaza de Mayo (May Square). You will also see the surrounding buildings; Government House, the Metropolitan Cathedral with the Mausoleum of General San Martin, Argentina's greatest national hero and the
Cabildo, the colonial town hall built in 1751. Then you will head to La Boca, the typically Italian district where the first Italian immigrants settled and 'Caminito' street. The tour continues to the Buenos Aires port area, past San Martin Square towards the residential district of Palermo Chico and Palermo Park with its jacaranda and palo borracho trees which flower in the spring and late summer. The
ride continues to Recoleta elegant district to visit the Recoleta Cemetery where the famous are laid to rest (including Eva Peron). You will return to the hotel along the stylish Alvear Ave.

Day 6: Tuesday June 16 - BUENOS AIRES
After a busy first few days, today is a free day for you to rest and relax or head out and explore this great city. We have many optional tours available, details released closer to departure.

Day 7: Wednesday June 17 - BUENOS AIRES (La Plata)
Today is our second group game as the Socceroos take on Paraguay in La Plata. Our bus will take us the one hour drive down to Estadio Ciudad de La Plata where we'll again enjoy prematch drinks.

Day 8: Thursday June 18 - BUENOS AIRES
► Full Day Fiesta Gaucha at Santa Susana Ranch with Lunch  ◄
Today’s excursion will visit one of the Gaucho Farms (Argentine cowboys). This full day tour will take you out of the city of Buenos Aires and into the Pampas (countryside) to spend a day on a Gaucho farm. This lovely full day excursion is a unique opportunity to have close contact with an Argentine Gaucho, their traditional music and dances, and take part in a real gaucho festival. The party is held at a beautiful country residence, on an old ranch and the day is filled with hayrides, horseback riding and a typical "asado criollo"(barbecue) with wine followed by a folklore show featuring the traditional music and dances and a gaucho skills demonstration.

Day 9: Friday June 19 - BUENOS AIRES to IGUAZU FALLS
Today we're off to the Iguazu Falls.  We fly down for two nights in this region of great rivers, humid tropics, red earth and magnificent jungle. Just 18kms from Puerto Iguazu you enter the National Park of the same name where the famous falls sit. The deep flowing waters of the river fall from heights of 70 metres through 275 falls spread over 2.7 kms. The frontier with Brazil goes through the Garganta del Diablo (Devil's Throat) where the falling water gives the illusion of magic rainbows. The national park is full of exotic subtropical vegetation which surrounds the falls and has 2000 plant species - gigantic trees, ferns, lianas, orchids - 400 birds species - parrots, colibris, toucans - jaguars and yacares (caimans). A visit to these falls is a truly unforgettable experience.

​Today you will have a private tour visiting the Brasilian side of the falls. Visiting the falls from the Brasilian side, will give you a completely different perspective of the side of this amazing falls, as you will have the panoramic view of the entire falls.

Day 10: Saturday June 20 - IGUAZU FALLS
► Half Day Tour: Argentine side of Iguazu Falls with Devil's Throat - Private service ◄
Today you will embark on a half day guided tour, walking along the many tracks on this side of the river and observing the falls from platforms that bring you extremely close to the water. 'Iguasu' in the Indian Tupi Guarani language means large waters. Appropriately, the Iguasu River flows east west for 808 miles and then drops suddenly and violently into a 262-foot abyss at the falls. Set amidst jungle, a visit to these falls will be an unforgettable experience. From your hotel you will be transferred to the visitor's centre inside the Iguazu National Park. You will board a small train to travel from the visitor's centre to the begining of the upper path, lower path and Devil's Throat. Upper walk: a walk of 500 mts long lasting about 45 minutes seeing the two sisters, Bosseti, Adam and Eve, Bernabe Mendez, Mbiguá and San Martín falls from the upper part. Lower path: with a professional tourist guide you will walk 1.3kms of footpaths lasting 1:30 hs. It’s a different view from which you will see the falls from the middle and be warned that you may get a little wet!

Day 11: Sunday June 21 - IGUAZU FALLS to BUENOS AIRES
Today we make our way back to Buenos Aires with a LATAM flight. After making our way back to our hotel in Buenos Aires, the rest of the day and evening is yours to explore the city and one of their many fine restaurants.

Day 12: Monday June 22 - BUENOS AIRES
We're back at the football today as the Socceroos take on Boliviao back in La Plata. We'll again enjoy some local hospitality at our prematch function.

Day 13: Tuesday June 23 - BUENOS AIRES

Day at leisure before we go to dinner and Tango show.

Day 16: Friday June 26 - BUENOS AIRES
This is the big match we've all been waiting for as the Socceroos take on Argentina. We're playing at one of the most famous stadiums in the world, Estadio Alberto J. Armando, the home of Boca Juniors. We'll soak up the atmosphere around the stadium with pre-match drinks before making our way into this imposing venue.

Day 17: Saturday June 27 - BUENOS AIRES
This is our last day in Buenos Aires and you have it free to finish your shopping and then head out for a big Saturday night in the capital, plenty of amazing restaurants and bars to visit. We'll have a list for you to check out.

Day 18: Sunday June 28 - BUENOS AIRES to CORDOBA
We leave Buenos Aires today and head to Cordoba for the final game. We have transfers to the airport and then our hotel in Cordoba. The evening is yours to explore more of the Cordoba nightlife and restaurants.

Day 19: Monday June 29 - CORDOBA

After breakfast we head out for a private half day tour of some beautiful Argentinean wineries. We'll visit two wineries for some tastings and tours of how they make wine a little different in the region. Argnetina is famous for their Malbec wines, so you may want to pick up a bottle or two to take home.

Day 20: Tuesday June 30 - CORDOBA
This is our last game of the tour, is it the Socceroos last game of their Copa America campaign? We take our Chile hoping to finish the tour on a high with another big prematch function and then cheer on the boys for the last time.
Post game we'll head back to the hotel and enjoy a few last drinks to reminisce on another great Socceroos adventure with your new football friends..

Day 21: Wednesday July 1 - TOUR FINISH IN CORDOBA
