JAPAN SEVEN NIGHT TOUR
JAPAN vs AUSTRALIA
Thursday 31st August 2017
Following a highly enjoyable, unfortunately not so successful on the pitch, tour to Thailand, we're proud to release our 2017 Japan Away Tour. This could be one of the biggest and best tours yet with qualification for Russia 2018 likely to be on the line.
Nippon, or the “Land of the Rising Sun”, is known to us as Japan. Its unique and complex culture make Japan a fascinating destination to visit. With its mix of ancient villages retaining strong traditions and ultra modern, high-tech cities, Japan is a country of contrasts.
Trendy teenagers are parading futuristic fashions as you board your bullet train in Tokyo. Takayama offers beautiful mountain landscapes and Osaka is Japan’s foodie town. History is the attraction in Kyoto and Hiroshima.
Enjoy tempura, teppanyaki, yakitori, or sashimi paired with warm sake or a cold Asahi or Sapporo. Try green tea or wasabi flavoured ice cream if you’re game! Experience a traditional onsen or a role play at a former geisha house to gain an understanding of this ancient tradition. Japan promises endless fascination and great memories.
Their are many options to fly to Osaka or Tokyo. Please contact Flight Centre Sports & Events agent Amelia (Amelia.Roth@flightcentre.com.au) to discuss the best flights for you.
Day 1 - Saturday 12th November 2016
Upon arrival, meet our guide and private transfer with guide from Bangkok Airport to Pathumwan Princess Hotel in Bangkok. Check in and free time at leisure.

Enjoy the cruise’s signature welcome cocktail while you sit back and take in the spectacular views on both sides of the river, including the silhouettes of some magnificent buildings in the city, including the Grand Palace and Wat Arun, the Temple of Dawn.
When the sun has set over the city, a delicious Thai and international cuisine buffet dinner is served. Dine under the moonlight as you are serenaded by live music; then, enjoy an incredible entertainment program including a classical Thai dance show, the bright lights of the city the perfect backdrop. Finally, you will be returned to the River City Pier, from where you may will be transferred back to your hotel.
Day 2 - Sunday 13th November - Explore Thailand
After breakfast choose one of our two tours to see the sights of Thailand.
Option 1. FULL DAY CITY TEMPLES, GRAND PALACE & THONBURI CANAL TOUR (Incl. Lunch)
Today, take on no less than four of Bangkok’s finest temples and a tour around the city’s fascinating canals. After visiting all the major Temples and Grand Palace in the morning, we'll grab lunch, then spend the better part of the afternoon on the water, meandering through the quaint canals and taking in the quieter side of life from the seat of a traditional ‘long tail’ boat. Of course, a tour of Bangkok’s Thonburi side isn’t complete without the spectacular and iconic Wat Arun - take time to explore the iconic temple towering 79 metres over the Chao Phraya River.
Option 2. FULL DAY KANCHANABURI & RIVER KWAI (Incl. Lunch)
This day-long tour brings you to one of the most famous historic landmarks in Thailand, the Bridge over the River Kwai. Board the train in Kanchanaburi and experience the incredible scenery for yourself, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll continue on to Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, which contains the remains of the nearly 7000 prisoners of war who lost their lives constructing the death railway.
Day 3 - Monday 14th November - Free Day
Today is a free day to yourself to explore Bangkok, do some shopping or just relax by the pool.
Opportunity to attend Socceroos training (TBC).
We'll gather in the evening for a few game eve drinks and enjoy the Bangkok nightlife.
