NEPAL vs AUSTRALIA
31 March 2020
SOCCEROOS TO REACH NEW HEIGHTS!
Following our highly successful Thailand, Japan & Russia Tours...apart from the results....we're delighted to launch our new tour to Nepal in 2020.
This is a fantastic opportunity for football fans to visit one of the most amazing countries on earth. Nepal combines Himalayan views, golden temples, charming hill villages and jungle wildlife watching to offer one of the world's great travel destinations.
We're staying in Kathmandu, which is an incredibly diverse historic city with breathtaking Newari architecture, centuries old Hindu and Buddhist religious sites along with dedicated tourist-friendly accommodations and restaurants. Stepping into Kathmandu is like stepping into another world that everybody should experience at least once in their lifetime.
Day 1 - Friday 27th March 2020
Make your way on one of our recommended China Southern flights to Kathmandu, a group transfer will be waiting to take you to our boutique Kathmandu hotel, Yatri Suites & Spa. We arrive early afternoon, so we'll check into the hotel and relax, before heading out for a welcome dinner to enjoy some local hospitality and get to know everyone.
Day 2 - Saturday 28th March - Explore Kathmandu
After breakfast we'll head out on a day tour to explore Kathmandu. Our One-day cultural tour in Kathmandu provides a close glimpse of Nepal. It not only showcases the rich culture of the Nepalese people but also takes you back in time through its architectural marvels. The tour takes you to four places: Patan Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bauddhanath and Swayambhunath temples that hold both religious and cultural importance to the Nepalese people.
After a busy 48 hours, the late afternoon and evening is yours to relax and recover, or head out and explore more of Kathmandu.
Day 3 - Sunday 29th March - Optional Activities Day
Today is an exploration day, choose from a list of optional activities, these will be at an additional cost. We'll have a choice of activities for people to do, such as a sunrise hike, food tour or other cultural/day experiences. Exact offerings to be finalised closer to the date. Or feel free to explore the city yourself.
We may also have a chance to attend Socceroos training today if FFA allows it.
We'll have a casual meetup for drinks and then optional dinner to enjoy mixing with the locals and some try some Raksi (distilled alcoholic drink of Nepal usually made from Kodo [a variety of millet found in Nepal]).
Day 4 - Monday 30th March - PLANE FLIGHT AROUND MT EVEREST
We have an early start as we head off for an unforgettable experience with a plane flight around the Himlaya's. This is an hour long flight. While on board, you will receive a 'Himalayan Peaks' map from our flight attendant.
This map contains information about the different peaks you will see during the mountain flight.
The pilot will guide you through each and every mountain. On the flight you will get to see all the mountains ranging from 6000m to 8000m and above at once. While on board you can have a view of the mighty Everest, Dorje Lakpa, Shisha Pangma, Phurbi- Ghyachu, Gauri Shankar, Melungtse, Chugimago, Karyolung, Cho-Oyu, Gyanchungkang, Pumore, Nuptse and many more.
After finishing the tour, flight attendant will offer you a glass of champagne to commemorate your once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The rest of the day is yours to relax and get ready for the game tomorrow before we meet up for some local evening drinks and local dinner.
Day 5 - Tuesday 31st March - GAME DAY
Today is the all important World Cup Qualifier against Nepal. After a nice recovery sleep in, we head out for our pregame function where we'll enjoy a few drinks before heading off to the stadium to soak up the atmosphere as the countdown to kickoff begins. Hopefully we'll be ready to celebrate post game, so we'll head back to the hotel and celebrate another great trip.
Day 6 - Wednesday 1st April - Home time
